We all need inspiration. We need inspiration for our own social media content on an ongoing basis. I gain inspiration from various places including bookstores, magazines and traveling to new locales.
But, on the daily, we must find inspiration right within our devices and computers from our own workspaces.
So I decided to create a simpler way, that will save me time, to find inspiration for my social media posts.
On your Instagram account, you are following accounts that will be your ideal audience, to engage with them, and in the hopes that they will follow you back and engage with, and ultimately buy from you. So your feed consists mostly of your ideal audience accounts.
Although that is the most important part of Instagram – engaging with your ideal audience – your feed will not necessarily inspire you. And yet, Instagram is SO FULL of inspiration.
So how do you find it? How do you simplify the finding of that inspiration?
Well, stick with me – I will show you a simple way, that I LOVE!
1. CREATE A NEW INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT
“What? Why would I want to create ANOTHER Instagram account?!”
This is your INSPIRATION ACCOUNT.
Instagram allows you to use up to five separate accounts on the Instagram app on your mobile device, without having to log in and log out every time, so take advantage of this – create a new account!
You need a different email account than your main account – so either use a personal account or create a new free gmail for this account.
You’re only going to use this account for inspiration. You’re NOT going to follow clients, customers, ideal customers, worry about a following, or any of the typical Instagram strategy. In fact, make your Inspiration Account private, and don’t allow people to follow you when they request it.
You’re simply using this account to view an inspirational feed.
So, follow ONLY what inspires you.
2. MAKE YOUR ACCOUNT PRIVATE
You are not making this account to grow it, you’re not making this account to engage with others.
You are purely looking for inspiration here.
So, make it a private account and don’t allow followers – that’s not what this is for.
3. WHOM TO FOLLOW
FOLLOW ACCOUNTS YOU LOVE
Don’t worry if they’re in your niche or not, but that you love them and that they relate to you or your business in some way.
Follow them.
FOLLOW ACCOUNTS IN YOUR NICHE THAT YOU ADMIRE
Are there Instagram accounts in your niche that you love, that post content you would like to be posting, or that simply inspire you? Follow them.
FOLLOW HASHTAGS IN YOUR NICHE
Instagram now allows you to follow Hashtags, not just accounts. Choose 5-8 hashtags in your niche and follow them on this account.
HOW TO ON INSTAGRAM:
- Tap the Search (magnifying glass) to get to the discover page
- Type out your hashtag, including the #
- At the top of your results, it will give you the option to Follow — this will follow the hashtag for your account and you will now see these posts (any posts with this hashtag) in your feed.
4. FIND INSPIRATION
Now, go find your inspiration. Scroll your new inspiration account’s feed daily.
Look for:
- inspiring accounts
- images
- quotes
- posts you can curate for your account
- potential niches for you to explore on your main account
Enjoy your new Inspiration!
